For your information the Rendezvous Committee provides the following information to help introduce you to the North Channel Yacht Club, our Host for this event.  The objective of this rendezvous is to allow us to meet fellow boaters from all over the Voyageur District and to build bridges amongst us for our mutual benefit.  You are encouraged to bring as many guests as you like and hopefully acquaint them with the advantages of CPSS membership.  Your enthusiastic participation in the events of this rendezvous will ensure that all will have a weekend to remember.

If you are coming by boat the North Channel Yacht Club is located in Serpent River Harbour and a minimum depth of 8’ will be found at the offshore ends of both the service dock and the main dock.  The recommended route to the NCYC docks is to pass Meteor Rock to port, a green spar buoy marks the limit of a sand bar to the north of Meteor Rock while a red spar buoy marks the wreck off Nobles Island.  Once past the red spar a course that slightly favours the south side of mid channel is recommended.  Once past the green can buoy that marks a water intake, the Club docks will be visible on the port beam and it is safe to turn and proceed to the docks.

The NCYC Dockmaster can be called on Ch. 68 to arrange for service and dockage.  It is strongly recommended that pumpout or any other servicing of your boat be done prior to proceeding to your assigned berth.  Ice, Diesel, gas, pumpout and showers are available at NCYC.

For those arriving by car the NCYC is located on Highway 17, 3 miles west of the Highway 108 turnoff to Elliot Lake.  Look for the CPSS burgee along with the NCYC burgee on the south side of the highway at the entrance to the club.

For those wanting motel accommodation, Roy’s Motel 705-849-2482 is located 1 mile east of the Club on Highway 17 on the north side.

Rocky’s Restaurant, 2 miles east of the Club on the north side of Highway 17 serves good food including a great burger.

NCYC is a “Self Help” club and its members are expected to treat the facilities as they would their own homes, as guest of the Club we hope that you will also treat the facilities as yours.

A garbage bin is located at the northern end of the car parking area and refuse from your boat should be deposited there.

For the enjoyment of everybody NCYC has a leash and stoop and scoop rule for all pets.

Due to safety concerns regarding open flame around the docks and boatyard, only the BBQ at the clubhouse and the authorized campfire will be permitted subject to any MNR fire restrictions.

A special dockage rate for this event, $0.50/foot + $5.00 for electricity is in effect for any boat attending, courtesy of the NCYC.  For those with a trailer or tent the fee is $5.00 per day.

NCYC does not have a bar so you will have to provide your own libations where appropriate.

For safety please have your children wear their life jackets whenever they are on the dock or in a dinghy.  Remember, no life jacket protects better than parental supervision.
